Pros

PSA Airlines’ initial training is well-structured, fair, and designed to set pilots up for success. Expectations are clearly defined through standardized flows, callouts, and profiles, which remove guesswork and help reduce workload early on. Systems training is practical and closely aligned with how pilots are evaluated, making studying efficient and straightforward. The instructors are supportive and genuinely want you to pass, creating a positive training environment rather than a washout culture. Simulator sessions are challenging but fair, with consistent profiles and no “gotcha” scenarios. Strong class camaraderie and teamwork make the process feel collaborative, not competitive. Overall, PSA provides a solid, professional training experience that builds confidence, prepares pilots well for the checkride, and offers strong long-term career momentum.

Cons

Training moves quickly, and falling behind early can be difficult to recover from. The program is very structured, which leaves little flexibility for different learning styles or deviations from SOPs. Simulator availability can be limited at times, and CRJ systems—especially electrical and automation—can feel dense and mentally demanding. The pace and evaluation environment create real pressure, and extended time away from home during training can be challenging, particularly for those with family or financial stress.

Pros

-Travel benefits are great; you get the same perks as mainline. -If you live in one of their bases, it's convenient if you get assigned to that base -Same uniform as mainline AA -Very easy training, only 4 weeks. Not hard to ace the tests and drills, especially if you pay attention

Cons

-The pay is extremely low -You barely have time and money to use those travel benefits -You need to pick up more hours or an extra job to make ends meet -FAs are not paid well enough -Crew scheduling can be very challenging -They make you pay for your uniforms in your first year, which is a thousand plus dollars (pay is low enough, you still need to shoulder the expensive uniform)
