Pros
The parents community is supportive of teachers. This is the only place I have worked where "bonuses" from parents was very generous. I loved being able to go on the field trips, when I could. The school itself teachers and builds on Reggio Emilia learning style, so that was great to learn more about and be exposed to while working here. They put an importance on professional development for teachers, which is really great and you can get STAR hours for the year from the professional days.
Cons
Lack of communication among administration so when you ask one person in management something, you would receive a completely different answer from another person who is in administration/management. There is also no follow up on employee reviews of either encouragement or how you could do better. Management ignored teachers who were not equipped to take care of a classroom, under ratio, by themselves. Pay of teachers is offered unfairly and there is favoritism, where certain teachers are being paid $10 more than other teachers but they are doing the same amount of work (or less). The social dynamic between some teachers and management seems like I was back in high school again. The school itself is also part of a church, so they deal with a lot of Church drama/politics which management tries to deal with, catering to teachers to the best of their ability.
