Pros
High wage and moody monday
Cons
I worked at P. Louise for six months, which was more than enough time to understand the company culture and how employees are treated.
At first, the brand presents itself as vibrant and exciting, with a strong visual identity and a seemingly positive atmosphere. However, behind this image, the working environment felt highly demanding and very toxic.
Although the salary can appear attractive, it often comes with expectations that go far beyond the job description. I was hired as a makeup artist, but in reality, the role included a wide range of additional duties such as cleaning toilet customers, mopping the floor after work (set on the floor scrubbing it), handling stockroom tasks, preparing deliveries, general maintenance work, even if you are hired as mua, you must to help restaurants, prepare coffee, go in the kitchen to get the plates for customers…
You must to stay beyond scheduled hours to complete tasks, without additional compensation. Work-life balance was not respected, and there was a strong expectation to prioritise the company over personal time.
The environment felt heavily monitored, with constant supervision and pressure from management. This created a stressful atmosphere where employees often felt undervalued and replaceable. You are constantly watched by cctv and listened by earpiece and cctv, you feel that you are in Squid Game.
During my time there, I also felt that I was being pushed out of the workplace, and there were moments where I was concerned about the security of my position. After raising questions regarding my rights and working conditions, the situation shifted and I was ultimately allowed to remain employed. From my perspective, this contributed to a lack of transparency and consistency in how decisions were communicated.
Also your phone will be confiscated at the beginning of your shift and will be handled at the end of your shift.
It’s mandatory participate in Tiktok live and tiktok video made on the shopfloor (once i said that i didn’t want to participate in a tiktok and i received a message from CEO saying was part of my job responsibilities. Spoiler: it wasn’t)
I found the experience emotionally challenging, and it had a negative impact on my wellbeing as every day on my way home I was crying thinking how someone can treat you that bad.
For anyone considering a role here, I would strongly recommend to avoid it.
