Pros

Leaving after listening to the CEO micro manage even though he hates micromanaging.

Cons

The CEO. Money hungry and sad. Chases down opportunity only to overload 2 account managers with 50 clients, then gets mad over freelancer work being paid out correctly for being too much, then changing that, and then icing on the cake is having no concept of how much work can go into a client, only to recommend copy/pasting content and changing it up a little.

Pros

Bob is a great mentor with an incredible wealth of knowledge. He gave me an opportunity and guided me through the ins and outs of agency life. It’s a small but mighty team where you’re encouraged to bring your best every day. If you want to be challenged, grow quickly, and gain valuable real-world experience, this is the place.

Cons

The pace can be demanding and the responsibilities are significant, but that’s also what makes the role rewarding. After just a few months, you’ll be amazed at how much you’ve learned and how far you’ve come.

Pros

Working here will make you realize that past jobs/employers were not as bad as you once thought.

Cons

The owner is an overbearing, tyrannical bully. He constantly goes back on his word, changes his mind about projects and procedures without informing anyone and lies to employees and clients alike. He will expect you to lie to your clients and may pressure you to work during weekends without compensation. He often singles out and picks on women and often says things that many would consider sexist or bigoted, although to be fair I do not believe he makes those statements with the intent of being sexist or bigoted. It's also impossible to know what to expect on a daily basis because practices, principles and expectations change radically almost every day. In 2018 alone, there were three different employees who got pushed out of their jobs because the owner gave them instructions, changed his mind without telling anyone and then punished the employees for following his specific instructions. This is a very hostile work environment and not a good place to work even if you're only looking to get your feet wet in the industry. Take the time to find a company that will treat you with respect. P.S. The two reviews on this page from 2016 were written by Ottaway employees at the behest and under the supervision of the owner.
