There is a growing problem, particularly in the Edinburgh office, with a large number of employees taking extended sick leave due to stress and burnout. This is due to expectations set by senior management, who are mostly outside of Edinburgh.
The response to this problem has been to reduce flexibility in sick pay rather than to do anything to address the mental health of their staff. I'm genuinely not often one to write a critical review like this, but the focus on reducing the financial impact of the issue to the company rather than focusing on the health of the staff should be called out.
