Pros
* Optiv has a great story to tell * The company and industry provide opportunities for growth * ELT openly recognizes achievement and opportunities for improvement * Culture is overall positive * I'm quite happy with my team and my leadership * I've seen significant strides toward operational maturity, greater availability of tools and resources to set employees up for success, and accountability for results which had been lacking in my first year * Leadership does a good job of communicating the big picture of where we are and where we are going as an organization.
Cons
* Optiv is a sales-driven organization, which can negatively impact operational maturity and client experience but also provides individuals with opportunities to help balance the fulcrum * Just as in my first year, it is clear there are inconsistencies on individuals' experience and many of these experiences are directly related to the quality of their direct leadership. This causes me to take pause when considering open positions outside of my current functional group. * I'm continue to be disheartened the organization continues to experience pain when attempting to get different functional groups to work together on some of the most basic levels, such as which system(s) to use and how to communicate with each other. This has a direct impact on our effectiveness and efficiency. It seems like RACI is often missing from the conversation. * IT and HR functional groups are missing the stride to deliver excellence. * While HR continues to promote the idea that Optiv's benefits and compensation package is on par with their industry peers, there continues to be opportunity to do better.
