Pros

When I first joined OneSpace back in 2014, the company was still under the CrowdSource name. For me, taking the job meant relocating to an area where I didn't really know anyone or have any ties, and in truth, I didn't anticipate staying for more than a few months. I saw it more as a short hop on my skip and a jump to somewhere else. Today, that short hop has lasted more than five years. My time here has given me all the confidence to say without question that each of our leaders and team members — past and present — have contributed to creating one of the most incredibly unique work environments anyone could ever wish to be a part of or experience. It's a "we" environment here — not a "me." The company places a huge emphasis on vetting candidates who are about doing and accomplishing something bigger than themselves. While I've seen people come and go from OneSpace both good and bad, by and large, most of the team members who have left have been celebrated upon their departure. The company wants the best for our team, and so we're collectively happy for anyone who decides they need to move on for whatever reason while still taking pride in the strides they made here and while remaining thankful for the marks they left on us as a company. What is even more inspiring is to see the people coming back to OneSpace after they chose to leave. Don't get me wrong — OneSpace certainly isn’t for everyone and can be a more than difficult place to work at times, but it's equally as rewarding. If you're strictly looking for a 9-to-5, you might still do okay here, but what you won't do is get out of this experience all it has to offer. I've worked incredibly hard in my time with this organization and have been pushed to the brink on multiple occasions, but as a result, I've also received invaluable opportunities to grow, learn and expand my skill set far beyond the role and responsibilities I first had when coming onto the team. For that, and so much more, I'll be forever grateful. As a business that is persistently striving to do something new and innovative, working at OneSpace constantly means what we refer to as "living in the gray." There's no textbook for what we've set out to do or accomplish. That also means a lot of trial and error — mainly error at times. But that highlights perhaps one of the company's most remarkable attributes: Providing team members a place where it's OK to fail, so long as you do it with flying colors of sorts. That doesn't mean the company wants team members going out and epically falling flat on their faces because they went into something blindly. However, if someone goes down in a blaze of glory on something they've worked hard on and knows they put in all the time, effort and research that they could have in order to execute on it intelligently, then OneSpace doesn't look at that as a failure. Instead, they see it as a foundation the entire team can build upon and learn from in the future. Sure, OneSpace has a laundry list of cool perks and holds awesome culture events, but in my opinion, those don't hold a candle to the notion that as a company, they establish this strange sense of reassurance in their employees that it’s not only okay to fail, but that it’s likely inevitable. This is all because OneSpace rewards innovation and boldness. While there are several team members who have done well here, the ones I've seen be the most successful are those who at least partially pave their own path. It's a company of opportunity, and recognizes those who are able to think big picture and identify beyond merely where they want to go in their career, but also where they see gaps or could add crucial value on the team. Mind you, all the hard work here hasn't robbed me of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. That's a buzz term you often hear, and that I believe is something that is up to each and every team member to set for themselves. If anything, OneSpace has provided me that balance by creating an environment and culture that promotes camaraderie and fun. We work hard. We play hard. We live by our core values, and I can't begin to tell you the number of stories I have as a result of company events and outings as well as just the people I get to surround myself with each day. Because everyone is working toward the same mission, there's not a single person here I don't believe I could call on for help or support and know that they'd be there to pitch in. That's the kind of dependability and trust we've come to expect from team members, and is a trait that if you don't possess it, won't fare well for you here. Are there late nights? Yes. Are there aggressive goals. You bet. If you're willing and wanting to put in the work though, the juice is definitely worth the squeeze, at least in my opinion. Again, OneSpace isn't for everyone. Even looking at something as simple as the open floor plans here — they don't vibe with everybody, and so if you're someone who needs to be heads-down without interruption all the time, our social office isn't probably the best match. Heck, even our introverts are extroverts. Realistically, I won't work at OneSpace forever. I'll eventually get to that delayed skip and a jump, moving on to whatever else is out there for me. When that day comes, however, I’ll be both sad to leave behind a place where I grew and learned so much as well as happy with gratitude for all of the incredible opportunities I had and amazing memories I made.

Cons

While there are challenges to every job and with any company, those challenges have made me a better professional and person; I wouldn’t change anything about my experience with OneSpace. If you choose to look at high expectations and a fast-paced work environment as cons, so be it — those “cons” though have all resulted in what excites me to keep going and to work harder.

Pros

I made some great friends at OneSpace, and some of the perks are nice...

Cons

The perks mentioned above are not really "perks." OneSpace is trying to justify not paying their employees fairly, not giving cost of living raises, and not offering basic compensation like 401k matching by saying that a stocked kitchen and bar are part of your compensation. Perks are not compensation. I can't pay my bills with a bar I rarely use or the parties that are a waste of money. The company has a solid idea but has no clear direction and no real leadership. They just keep saying "well, let's try this" without fully following through on previous attempts. The companies under the Juggle umbrella have never been profitable (in over 10 years) and are losing the faith of their clients and employees very quickly. There is a group of untouchable employees who are "golden children" and many of the VPs are best friends with the CEO and COO. This kind of incestuous relationship is toxic to a company and extremely unprofessional. There are no opportunities for advancement or higher pay, no matter how much they say otherwise, and promises are almost never kept. You are expected to work well over 40-hours with zero ROI. They require weekend work, they offer zero work/life balance, and they do not pay you or promote you for you dedication.
