Pros
I had the chance to meet and work alongside some fantastic individuals that ended up being supportive friends
Cons
I was initially drawn to this company's promises of transparency, social responsibility, and support for "people who bleed." However, my experience working there was deeply disappointing. Despite these stated values, burnout was rampant, and the management team was unwilling to provide the necessary resources until it was too late. So many people burnt out during their times at ohne, it's unbelievable. They're hiding behind some "not everyone can handle working for a startup" crap. Please - they're just exploiting and abusing people. The so-called unlimited vacation policy was a joke; employees were often made to feel guilty for taking time off, even if they were on the brink of burnout. And when it came to sick leave, the company's policies were far from supportive. I felt pressure to work even when I was unwell. Make sure you have a great immunitary system to allow you to recover from any kind of viruses within less than 24 hours. I was also disappointed by the company's lack of commitment to diversity and inclusion. Racist comments being made by one single employee to multiple other employees (one time in front of one of the founders), yet that employee was promoted while those who had been hurt by their words ended up leaving the company. The company's competitive salary promise also proved to be a sham; those who weren't skilled negotiators were actually underpaid. Overall, my time at ohne was a huge letdown. It's easy to be taken in by their polished exterior and lofty promises, but the reality is far from the image they project. They will take every single thing they can until you're left to bleed out so stay away! I had been warned by a former employee but I hadn't fully understood her warning before it was too late. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you're looking for a supportive, equitable work environment, I'd advise you to look elsewhere.
