Pros

I worked at Offix very briefly. When I first got hired on, I was excited and thrilled to be working for a smaller, friendlier company. The office staff in Gainesville gave off this impression during the full two weeks of training that I was there for. The hours seemed reasonable (8-5) and vacation time was nice (3 weeks).

Cons

Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros...where do I start? I was an experienced sales rep who came from a different industry but was ready for somewhat of a career change. I thought I could see myself working at Offix long term but the longer I was there, the more I realized how much of a facade everything was. -The friendliness was only extended to new hires during the training. Once you arrived in the office you were going to be working out of, the environment completely changed. -The management was demanding and yes, I know sales is a demanding job however 8-5 Monday-Friday is what I signed up for, not anything more than that. The CRM system that was used was outdated and slow-also frustrating because it was difficult to make out the previous rep's notes in the system to determine what was going on with the clients. Sorting through that took up valuable time as well. -The management staff came off as somewhat of a misogynist, giving the best leads, meetings and on site installs/demos to the male sales rep and ignoring my questions and concerns when they were brought up. - Again on the 8-5, I was told to come in earlier and stay later-to log my time to the minute to make sure I was doing this. -They use a points system where you are required to achieve 50 points a day based on your activity-seems simple right? Nope. The point values vary and even speaking with someone is only worth 1 point. Meetings are worth anywhere from 10-20 however when a rep is trying to build on a territory it takes a lot of 1 point talks to get to those higher point meetings. (The meetings I went on I was supposed to have the support of having a manager there but there was only one time I actually had a manager there) The other sales rep started to fudge his points just to get the required amount per day. In fact, it became clear that you pretty much were expected to do everything and no points were given for emails or paperwork so essentially you would have to work 7-6 in order to try to get even close to 50 and it was exhausting, physically and mentally. -Also no one but a very select few has been with this company for more than a year and it's obvious why. -All in all, it went from enjoyable to stressful very quickly...I started to dread going into work, developing headaches and stomaches because I knew that no matter how hard I worked, I was going to get nowhere in this job. Eventually it came down to a mutual agreement that it wasn't a good fit for either me or the company and that was that. However, I hope that whoever takes this job in the future is aware of all the demands placed on reps other than just making sales and taking care of customers.

Thank you for your feedback! With regards to working hours, sales positions in general often require additional hours outside of 8am – 5pm, we will make sure this possibility is discussed in the interview process going forward. However, do keep in mind that if you are able to do what is needed to reach your quota and the level of success you are after, we are very supportive of you working less. We want all of our employees to have a good work / life balance. The CRM that Offix uses has undergone a major transformation…there is even a mobile app now which we are very excited about! The points system is widely used in our industry, not just at Offix. This system was put into place to help our sales team build their pipelines, increase sales and be successful. This system has not been in place very long, so each month we do evaluate the system to see if improvements can be made.
