Pros
Shared tips. Good coffee. There's a 20 word minimum but honestly there wasn't much else that was a pro. I guess meeting neighborhood folks was cool.
Cons
Horrible management. They did very little hands on training, and when questions came up, they referred to an online training site that really wasn't very helpful and hadn't been updated in quite some time. They also had very weird expectations for employees and which tasks belonged to whom... Also, they started to want to have a spread-out type of management within the restaurants where everybody was a "manager" of some sort--it was a lazy way to get out of having to take control of your store and also when suggestions were brought up, they brushed them off as if the business was perfect and didn't need improvement. So, that was bizarre. I know lots of other folks who work in the restaurant industry and when I tell them stories about my time there, they look at me with bewilderment. As in, how can a restaurant operate like that? Who told them that's how to run a restaurant? For example: as soon as the store closed, BOH folks were free to go. No cleaning up, no helping with dishes, nothing. Just, poof, out the door, and FOH has to clean the whole restaurant. So...another bizarre thing. Also probably violated some health codes.
