Pros

The company itself is good to work for and a lot of fun with perks like free food

Cons

Management is all over the place with some questionable decision making skills, often rushing things and then having to pull them back. Inter-department communication also made it difficult to do the job. Huge amounts of negative changes to job role and compensation once I started.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and provide feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your time at Octopus didn’t meet your expectations and you couldn’t find your home within the team. We’re committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive. As the Low Carbon Tech Team continues to grow and evolve rapidly, we recognise that the pace and demands of this journey may not be the right fit for everyone - we are working on how to improve these ways of working, from communication to managing change so it feels smoother for everyone. I am glad you enjoyed some of the aspects of the role and the Octopus culture - we really try to make everyone feel at home and in a space to thrive so it is nice to hear that even though you aren’t with us anymore you enjoyed your time with us in some ways. If you’d like to talk more or have additional thoughts, we’d welcome the opportunity to listen. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter, Emily Hall Head of Engagement

Pros

Some members of the company are the best people you’ll ever meet.

Cons

Genuinely a complete mess. Incompetent, passive aggressive leadership that repeatedly makes both poor and confusing company decisions. I have some absolutely crazy stories from things I’ve witnessed here. There’s things that are so bizarre and dysfunctional, they belong in an alternate reality.
