The absence of an HR department significantly impacted my overall experience and ultimately affected my well-being.
Without HR, essential processes—particularly those related to employee welfare, feedback, and conflict resolution—were poorly managed. Unfortunately, if you're assigned to a difficult or unprofessional manager, there's no formal avenue to raise concerns. In my case, this led to an abrupt and, in my opinion, unjust termination. My manager appeared to instrumentalize the situation for own gain, This was all possible because I had no HR support or higher management involvement to intervene or ensure fairness.
My resignation was the result of how poorly the situation was handled, lacking oversight, transparency, and support from those in higher positions.
Having a dedicated HR team is crucial for ensuring fair treatment, providing conflict resolution avenues, and maintaining a healthy work environment. I hope the company prioritizes developing HR resources and ensuring senior management is more involved in employee relations to prevent similar situations from escalating.
