Pros

Specifically the account management team has great mid level and senior leadership. The team is supportive, kind, and there is across Ocrolus a surprisingly healthy work life culture, but it's especially true in Account Management. The Executive level so far seems kind hearted, very intelligent and actually deeply understands the product and market they are in. Sam / Vik literally build this company from the ground up and are truly present, creating energy but are also human and seem genuinely to care about Ocrolus being a great place to work for the employees, rather than a money/status machine for themselves. The product works. It's not trying to solve every problem in the world, so that focus allows it to actually be a best in class solution for lending. There is the same strain in every tech company, Ocrolus is still a tech company in America in 2026, but it's found a rare bubble to exist in. 1. The tech worked and was built with AI BEFORE the LLM's changed everything. It is a mature and robust solution comprising of the necessary human, algorithmic, and predictive technologies. LLM's made Ocrolus better, but didn't make Ocrolus. This provides a lot of stability in the AI arm's race. 2. They are the right size. They have consistently grown in healthy sustainable ways, relative to most classic companies. It's hasn't been perfect, but the leadership has learned from their mistakes and they are focused on sustainable growth, drivin by a consistent and profitable market (SMB lending), but balanced with a huge new market they are investing in (Mortgage). The size of the team lets them be agile, but there is support and process and stability. It allows allows for there to actually be a somewhat consistent culture (they aren't at multiples of Dunbars number) People - 5/5 - I am very grateful for the team I get to work with and the leadership here. Tech - 4/5 - There is room to improve but it's a great solution. Process - 3/5 - It's in the middle of the road here. That works for me though.

Cons

This is a fintech company. There is no way around being at a tech company today, that there is pressure from the investment arm to grow quickly, the chaos of the AI industry impacts us, and the overall culture of fintech is present.

Pros

enviro with autonomy, growth opportunities - you have full ownership over your work bc teams are lean, and you are given a good balance of autonomy and guidance to help you continuously learn. also, most teams have structured development now, so you can understand how to grow at the company. consistently amazing people - everyone means well, works hard. agile teams - we are always adapting and thinking through challenges to come out stronger and improve processes. great benes, hybrid/remote work, open PTO policy to give you the flexibility you need to balance work and personal life.

Cons

not right for someone who needs to be told what to do every day or resists change. change is the only constant! growth potential depends on your function and of course your skills and abilities.

Pros

Some of my favorite reasons to work here are as follows: (1) Your impact is very obvious. Because the company is still small and scaling, it is a very close-knit organization; therefore, your ability to have a voice in strategy and tactics is strong. On that same note, when you get wins - everyone knows about it - and if you mess up - everyone knows about it! This is more of a pro for me because you can immediately see the impact on the business that you make, and the misses are just learning/testing experiences you grow from. (2) Balance and flexibility is big for me and my family, and I appreciate the ability to work remotely and balance children's activities with work. Just be sure you're actually putting in the work! (3) There is no hesitation from others here to jump in and help you out. Often in young orgs there are "cliques" formed by the early-day crews, that does not exist here.

Cons

Every org has its cons, so this is more applicable to like-sized businesses that are still in the "start-up" phase but are rapidly growing. There is a lot of work to do, and sometimes the direction changes frequently, so you need to be flexible and be able to pivot on a dime. Many people can be frustrated by that, but that is just the reality of startups that are rapidly growing.
