Cons
- Ocean is so much worse than a toxic workplace, as they pretend EDI and sustainability are important topics whilst actively working against their development in the company. - Leadership team are white, straight, upper class men who don’t care about EDI changes within the business, but pretend they do, through partnerships with the likes of Paralympics and Special Olympics, to the industry. Several people with intellectual disabilities were bullied out in the time I was there for their disability, instead of supported. - Sustainability initiatives are organised and attended by only junior staff members but senior leadership team love to bring up within the industry that Ocean support sustainability. - Workplace bullying from senior staff is rife. Those in question are sideways moved or junior staff are paid off to leave quietly. - Leadership team need to have autonomy over all work yet expect staff to use initiate on decisions which conflicts on a regular basis. - HR is 1 person for over 100 people and, although she is kind and compassionate, she has no authority on making ethical decisions around staff. Horrendous experience within this workplace which has left a bad taste.
