Pros

The team (including management). They have a great group to work with. No nay sayers that I've seen. Great benefits. Smaller company, so less red tape. Exposure to full stack. You get to see your work in action. No micro-managing. There's a reason for low turn-over.

Cons

Some projects can be stale. Equipment is good, but not brand new top of the line. Pay could be less than larger entities.

I couldn't agree more with your comment about our COO; we're very lucky to have him. Thanks for sharing the pros/cons you've experienced as well. It's helpful to us to see what is going well and what can be improved.

Pros

Objective is a great place to work at, filled with the best people to work alongside with. I loved that I could try different languages and frameworks, and because everyone is just as curious as you, you can always get the help you need. You're never working on the same thing, so it keeps things interesting.

Cons

Though not a bad thing, working at an agency requires you to have a broad knowledge and willingness to learn new things constantly; if you thrive in this type of environment, than this isn't a con.

Thanks for posting this review and sharing your experience working with us at Objective! I'm happy to see that it was an overall great experience, and likewise appreciate knowing what you see could be improved. Regarding our PTO policy, I just want to clarify that the PTO days given are not at all conditional on working 9-hour days. The 9's schedule you referred to is a totally separate thing that gives employees the option of either working normal 8-hour days, M-F each week...or working 9-hour days and taking every other Friday off. Vacation days are separate from that and all full-time employees receive an amount of vacation days, based upon tenure, independent of whatever work schedule they choose.

Pros

- Very flexible schedule. Full-time on the 9's schedule, flexible hourly, or contract work all provide a good work-life balance. Remote work is very common too, and has been especially helpful during the pandemic. - Talented co-workers. It's the most skilled and competent team of developers I've ever worked with. While mostly grouped into project-based teams, any larger problems are quickly solved with group effort. - Good perks. Health, dental, 401k matching, fully-stocked break room, top of the line computers, monitors, desks, and chairs (seriously the chairs are fantastic) - Huge amount of autonomy and creative control for developers. If you can make a good case for a technology, you can use it on a project. Teams are small and focused, so you can call the shots on many decisions. - Focused work atmosphere. People come in to get work done and there aren't many distractions. Efficiency is a core value.

Cons

- Would not be a great place for junior developers. You really need to be a self-starter and know what you're doing to handle the expected workload. Someone completely green without at least a year or two of experience would probably have a hard time keeping up. - It can be a bit quiet. The focused work atmosphere is a double-edged sword sometimes. It's great for getting things done, but sometimes I wish things were a bit more social.

It's great to hear your thoughts on working at Objective! I appreciate you listing the specific things you think we're doing well as well as noting the things that could be a potential "con" for a person considering working here. Covid is going to make it a bit harder than normal to come up with solutions for increasing our "social" factor, but we'll work on it! Thanks again.
