Pros

Health insurance, 401k, remote work environment.

Cons

Literally everything about the job. The interviewers lead you to think it will be extremely flexible and the early training is all about how wonderful the company is and how many people you will help. The role-specific training is a nightmare. You'll be told in interviews it's basically like a receptionist job, but will find out very quickly it's a glorified call center position. Braindead staff who make you feel insulted for being hired on in your role do the training. You cannot go to the bathroom without telling your supervisor. You're working from home, but still need to get childcare? Penalized for stepping away from the computer for even a moment.

Pros

Better pay than other scribe jobs with full benefits available including a 401k. Part of a smaller clinical setting with a more open feeling. Care team staff is nice.

Cons

You will be overworked and overwhelmed with the amount of responsibilities you will be responsible for, including the documentation required for notes as a scribe. You will be micromanaged on metrics from day 1 of being part of a care team after only 3 weeks of training that does not prepare you anywhere near enough. Depending on your provider and their personality your experience will heavily vary from you having a supportive and warm experience with a PCP that cares about you and wants you to learn, to a PCP that seems nice but is incredibly overbearing. There is never enough time to finish all the work and you will amass a backlog of notes and feel pressured to work overtime to catch up on work.
