Pros
- Coworkers are generally really great: there really are some wonderful people working here
- Potential opportunities to work in many different projects. Had a chance to work on all kinds of projects early on- if they ever get back to doing more commercial projects it's a great way to experience many different projects from the ground up
Cons
- Pay absolutely did not keep up with industry and raises were inconsistent at best: went several years without even a cost of living adjustment when inflation was at an all time high
- Too much middle management/red tape in projects (especially anything government related). Endless meetings, recording every detail of how you spent your time in 4-5 different places, often felt like the clerical side of things was more important to managers than actually getting things done
- Several projects seemed to lack direction or felt like they were started too early leading to feeling like you were doing a lot of "busy work" just to hit the hours they wanted
