Pros
1. Plenty of fine colleagues, with great energy and attitude doing their best. 2. If you are young and have energy and commitment, you can learn a lot under the right director. 3. The office has a good view and is quite spacious. 4. Good annual leave. 5. Depending on the studio, you can get a decent work/life balance. 6. Exposure to different types of projects.
Cons
1. The main issue with Ong & Ong is that the company management and directors have no vision and purpose, no experience or idea on how to successfully run a company. It also does not help they are unable to take responsibility when things go wrong and end up blaming the employees for the company's poor financial performance. 2. Plenty of condescending, patronizing comments from the management and directors, both looking at their employees with contempt. 3. Appalling HR/IT department, they make your life more difficult in every possible way. 4. Old, slow computers barely working with limited software (you could say the same about most directors). 5. If you are a responsible employee, you will be rewarded with more work and responsibilities meanwhile less “committed” colleagues with no interest to grow and help the team, will have a good time not doing much, and probably getting the same pay as you or more. 6. If you want to grow professionally, be aware that you have little to none opportunities ahead. 7. Low pay and no bonus. 8. Substandard design solutions in all studios. 9. Financial reports and decisions are not shared with clarity and openness to the employees. Nobody knows where is the money or where it is going.
