Pros

If you are comfortable with compromising your morals and being a "yes" man you may be able to do well there. Some departments in the company are more family friendly than others while others are managed by Attila the Hun. If you are getting into a good department with supportive and competent management than you should do okay, though I will admit that there are few of those at Nuance. In the Burlington location, they are in a fairly new building, so I guess for a plus I would say that they are close to shopping. Also if you are real good at "sucking up", you might get invited to the Chairmans Club!

Cons

Very political, many management team members either lack the experience to be at their role or the fortitude to disagree with the top when they should. A few management team members lack real life experience qualifying them for their role and do not value the input of real live experience from subordinates. Kind of like when I want your opinion I will beat it out of you! Certain organizations, and here I mean departmnents, thrive on sucking up to the department VP and throwing everyone else under the bus. As they look towards becoming a billion dollar company the need to look at the leadership team and bring in some real experienced managers. Unfortunately some of those that have the ear of Paul will never let that happen since it will (should) end up with them losing their jobs as well.

Pros

The company offers excellent training and a thorough onboarding process, helping new hires feel well-prepared and confident. The small, close-knit teams foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where you never feel lost in the crowd. Employees take pride in the innovative technology and software being developed, which is recognized as impactful within the industry. (Note: The company was acquired by Microsoft to bring potential for future growth.)

Cons

While the company excels in many areas, there’s limited upward mobility, especially in certain career paths, which can be frustrating for those seeking advancement. Additionally, feedback from employees often feels like it’s not taken seriously, which can lead to disengagement when trying to influence change or improve processes.
