Pros
Great employees in the rank-and-file and lower management, people who really care. Benefits are really good.
Cons
This private, family-owned company doesn't believe in using the latest software (in some instances software is more than a decade outdated), leading to a truly frustrating day-to-day employment experience. Pay raises are pathetic. Managers are incentivized to minimize annual pay increases. Human Resources is a joke. Get everything in writing during the hiring process. Promises made during hiring are often broken once you're employed. Poor work/life balance for the majority of employees. Religion permeates corporate headquarters. Weekly hour-long prayer meetings are held in the cafeteria during lunchtime, and managers often include Biblical quotes in emails. Learning who to "befriend" will get you a lot farther than actual hard work and commitment to the company's core beliefs. Having ideas and original thoughts are frowned upon; mediocrity is celebrated. They give gold stars to employees for doing things like filing a report on time. If you just want to exist and never grow or excel then this is the place for you.
