Pros

Decent benefits- though it seems to be less each year. Good perks as long as you go to Northside. They also randomly have some Kennestone providers, and some “Northside doctors” are not covered. The people who work at Cherokee overall genuinely care for their pts and coworkers. Beautiful hospital and campus- and I feel most managers are approachable. Change is possible- but it’s def very hard. But at least we know it could possibly happen. There are a ton of programs to learn new specialties and skills.

Cons

We are 90% women and our pumping rooms are few and far between. We can’t leave our department for long- but it could take up to 20 minutes to get to a room that’s not taken. This takes precious time from my patients and responsibilities. They either need to have more rooms- or add a lounge space with curtain dividers so multiple people can use the space. This is the first time there has been an open form asking for feedback- for many years I just assumed they didn’t care what their clinicians and staff workers thought. There is very little incentive to stay long term- except the pension. But honestly I could invest my increase in pay from another hospital and end up better. Simply appreciating employees who have been there multiple years would go a long way. I’ve been here 7 years- a daycare center (Atlanta campus has one) and a gym have been promised at multiple points- but no action. So it’s a little disheartening.

Pros

I have been privileged to work for Northside Hospital for the past five years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. During my tenure, I have benefited from the organization's commitment to employee growth through its annual internal promotion policy, which has allowed me to advance within my current department. One of the aspects I value most is Northside's support for work-life balance and professional development. While working here, I was able to begin my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the ground up and am on track to graduate in December 2026. The flexibility and encouragement provided by the organization have played a significant role in helping me pursue my educational goals while continuing to contribute as an employee. I was a full-time employee for most of my career with the organization and recently transitioned to part-time status to accommodate the increased demands of my nursing program. The support and understanding shown by management throughout this process have reinforced my appreciation for the company's employee-centered culture. I am grateful for the opportunities, professional growth, and support I have received over the past five years.

Cons

None that I can think of right now
