Pros

Descent health insurance and PTO accruements , extra money on holidays

Cons

Negative energy constantly, nick picking employees to the point of harassment - not treated the same, some are allowed to work 8 hrs some are allowed 12 hrs, no lunch breaks, no time to legally pump your breasts if u are a breastfeeding employee. Scheduling conflicts constantly , has a rude staff manager that literally will schedule you for work when u give months notice that u cannot that exact particular day just to screw with u, total unprofessional harassment. Threatening managers that talk down to you and LIE to you when u confront them about any problems, Patient care is not this departments concern! They r more concerned about petty tattle tales of the chatty Karens that sit around and tattle every word u say. Like hall monitors in grade school, this department lacks professionalism big time and r never concerned for the patients safety and well being, The managers are awful and have their favorites and if u aren't thee favorite, u are screwed, picked apart, to the point of harassment .

Pros

I have been privileged to work for Northside Hospital for the past five years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. During my tenure, I have benefited from the organization's commitment to employee growth through its annual internal promotion policy, which has allowed me to advance within my current department. One of the aspects I value most is Northside's support for work-life balance and professional development. While working here, I was able to begin my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the ground up and am on track to graduate in December 2026. The flexibility and encouragement provided by the organization have played a significant role in helping me pursue my educational goals while continuing to contribute as an employee. I was a full-time employee for most of my career with the organization and recently transitioned to part-time status to accommodate the increased demands of my nursing program. The support and understanding shown by management throughout this process have reinforced my appreciation for the company's employee-centered culture. I am grateful for the opportunities, professional growth, and support I have received over the past five years.

Pros

Northside Hospital is a reputable healthcare organization with excellent opportunities for career growth and advancement. The pension plan is a standout benefit and adds significant long-term value to the overall compensation package.

Cons

Career advancement opportunities can sometimes feel influenced by internal relationships and networking. Additionally, HR processes may move slowly, particularly when extending offers to new hires or processing employee promotions, which can lead to delays in hiring and career progression. The PTO structure may also be a drawback for some employees, as holiday time off is deducted from PTO balances rather than being provided as separate paid holidays, reducing the amount of discretionary time off available throughout the year.
