If you are lucky enough to get into a small department you can sometimes get your own office, and time off does not need to be put in way ahead of time. Flexible hours
Cons
Some departments require prime time off to be submitted a year at a time & it is sometimes difficult to get a day off. No true paid holidays- if you want the day paid you have to use your normal vacation time. No true sick time, comes from your normal Vacation time. Pay grades for those that are lower on the ladder need an overhaul, there is such a shortage of CNA’s & MA’s because the poor is quite poor. Health insurance benefits are ok but certainly not great & there are lots of problems with claims & such. Changes occur that directly affect employees & said employees are not informed or asked about these changes until they have already been done.
