Pros

- Most people there are friendly

Cons

- Almost cult-like attitude inside the company. The founders see their trivial gadgets as inherently life-improving and socially progressive. Their thinking is similar to "smartphones will end human suffering and create social togetherness". - They brag a lot about how their tech - such as the Myo - has medical applications, but have patented the technology and kept it locked. In reality what they have done is block medical applications by hoarding the technology. - To work there, you must drink the kool-aid. - Salaries not very competitive - Noisy open-concept office - Long, frequent meetings which usually involve explaining technology to the project managers.

Thanks for taking the time to write this out. Culture is hugely important to us at Thalmic. From flexible work hours, to benefits and compensation, to how we treat each other - it all matters, and we’re proud of the workplace we’ve built here. That said, our culture isn’t necessarily a fit for everyone. Our co-founders have a strong vision for the future, and leadership and employees alike are working incredibly hard to make it a reality.

Pros

The only positive was getting exposure to a new industry I genuinely found interesting and enjoyed learning about.

Cons

Management hired me knowing I had no prior experience in merchant services, told me it would take 2–3 months to build a pipeline, and then fired me after exactly 30 days for “lack of production.” Despite having 3 new accounts onboarded the previous day. I was given zero coaching, no sales guidance, and no access to inbound leads, while others on the team were clearly closing deals from inbound queues. I was handed old, cold, often disconnected leads and expected to perform miracles with no real support or live training. The onboarding was minimal, the leadership team lacked accountability, and the entire culture felt disingenuous—lots of surface-level encouragement, but no actual help when it came to execution. When I asked for support, I was told to figure it out. If you’re looking for a company that invests in its people, provides real coaching, or cares about new reps ramping up properly—this is not that place.
