Pros
This is a safety first, Lean Strategy, business. The company has good leadership, with the intention of high profits. If you work for this company, you will not get bord, complacency is unacceptable, and teamwork is important. We use a system of measurement “Strategy Deployment” aka, Lean X-Matrix, or lean business plan, to plan our business improvements; we meet monthly with the management team, progress is essential. These main goals are broken down into sub goals that are broken down into different tabs in Excel that we spend hours going over each of the finite details. Anyway, I digress, the company sets goals and truly tries to progressively improve. If you are looking for a high paced, high stakes job this is the company.
Cons
IMI Group (IMI PLC Head Quarters) as it is called owns Norgren and several other businesses under its umbrella. If you happen to work in one of their large cash centers, your projects get supported. If not, you are expected to do miracles without cash, support, or extended lead times. We are inspected several times per year for safety (HSE) and Lean (business improvements) and given a score. For middle management this is a tough job, high stress, and constant pressure to meet all the KPI’s; that are also constantly measured, in fact daily. If you are not young with many college degrees, you are passed over.
