Pros

I believe this could be a good kick off for someone just entering the job market. The training you’ll get is very well structured, consistent and what’s good is that they will take you from scratch with everything, that’s why they prefer hiring people without previous experience. Young team, with lots of support and fun environment, a lot of social activities outside work. Nice office with great views in Canary Wharf. You can make some pretty good money if you’re ready to sacrifice your time and are resilient enough.

Cons

It is a phone based job and they make it clear from the beginning, so if you want diversity this is not for you. You’ll make phone calls from day one which is both scary and beneficial for you. Unfortunately there’s a lot of micro management and the managers breathing on your neck. If you’re not on the phone for 2 minutes they will start looking weird at you. Also there’s no flexibility with your plan throughout the day, so no autonomy at all. What’s worst is that you’ll be encouraged to work during the weekends under the reason that this will help you code and understand your market much better , resulting in you making more placements, so more commission. Sadly, this will happen during the week as well, where people stay in the office on average around 7-7.40 pm every single day. I felt awkward being the only one leaving at 5.30-6pm. You don’t get any resources such a laptop or mobile phone , not even LinkedIn recruiter which will make your job much more difficult. So how do you expect your people to perform if you don’t give them the resources? All in all, it’s a tough environment and not for everyone, unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend nonstop

Thanks for leaving a balanced review. Just one thing to clarify for any readers: we don't provide laptops or mobiles for junior people. However, everyone has a desk computer and phone. We prefer people not to take work home with them, or work at weekends or well into the evening. I'm not sure of the specific reasons why you felt you had to work evenings or were being encouraged to work weekends so I can only speak from personal experience - the CEO, Kevin, often tells me to work less or go home early. I'm sure he would love to hear more from you about why you felt this way. I won't leave his email address here but you worked with us so will know how to get in touch with him. As for the micromanagement, yes, we know do know that has been an issue in some cases with junior managers and to address this, we have developed management training that covers this.

Thanks for the positive feedback. As the new CEO I am doing what I can to improve things but I am not sure what I can do about the local cafe 🤔

Pros

What I appreciate the most is the wide scope of action & responsibilities: - Candidate mapping & contacting, - Market Building (building a network and understanding the areas drivers) - Prospect identification until client on-boarding for Perm and Consulting, - Contract Tailoring Management, - Marketing (adverts, internet search tactics, LinkedIn, other, ...) - CRM building and tailoring (quality of the data, number of data & data management), - Management & Business Training, - Process automation (Emails, Excel, Internet, LinkedIn,...), - Coaching and Support for management especially, - ...

Cons

What goes with autonomy is perhaps less process driven so one can feel overwhelmed but if the energy and drive is there all can be done in time even in a this challenging Sales environment.
