Pros

Autonomous work and trust you to own your own projects. No micromanaging. Some truly knowledgeable experts that will make time for you and teach you how things work, and why they are done the way they are done. A number of really interesting and wonderful people that the business is lucky to have and should protect at all costs.

Cons

Not very customer-centric in their business mission. Learning and onboarding doesn’t exist. A swathe of webinar recordings are dumped on you and you’re left to work out the product and its functions yourself. Hiring a trainer would be very beneficial. Sales team are VERY happy to sell and make promises they simply do not have the resources to deliver to clients… a “sell first, build it later” approach, which causes consequences for cross-functional teams outside of the Sales bubble. Of course, board and executives are happy with their net revenue, but the truth is that many customers are not happy at all. HR lack transparency in processes, and employee pulse surveys are meaningless vanity metrics without much tangible action.

Pros

- OK basic salary - WFH - A few decent people

Cons

- Toxic workplace: A lot gaslighting, Managers who throw their team under the bus to save themselves and take credit for the wins of individual contributors, micromanaging - Zero benefits other than the legal minimum - Very bureaucratic and top-down for such a small organisation, leading a loss of the tactical advantage of a small scale-up - Mediocre product
