Pros
- It is not a strict environment in several ways. The are some managers that support their team but this is a minority. - Working from home is ok without been pushed to go to office.
Cons
- Management (low & high level) does not support at all people's efforts in any way. Financially and in all other ways. - Upper management most of the times takes advantage of employees who are involved in side projects - tasks not related to the business but are related to the local site. An illusion of then extra mile and "best effort" work that leads to exploitation. No reward of any kind. - The majority of the line managers are not supposed to deal with people and carriers. It is the first time I saw totally incapable managers trying to handle excellent engineers... As a result, the Nokia Athens lost many excellent engineers and got stuck with poor performers and average performance employees. If you try to speak up & raise possible issues, most probably you will get into a "black list" - 50% of the working environment is not suitable for employees. One of the 2 buildings is totally not meant to host people. - The company has great tolerance to political parties and all kind of surreal political actions. You can do whatever you want (emails, working station visits, etc) and noone will stop you.
