Pros

Global reach, large still somewhat positive brand recognition OUTSIDE of the US.

Cons

Prior to the current CEO, the modus operandi was, "when in doubt, reorganize". There were 6 or 7 major reorganizations within the 5 years I've been at Nokia. Now, they're brining in outside talent who, despite the company laying off literally thousands worldwide, are hiring from outside for jobs that could have been easily handled by internal employees. They are admittedly extremely generous in the current round of layoff packages, but the new leadership team are spotty in terms of expertise relevant to their current executive roles. And they have a global company transfer policy of moving just your stuff with no regard to cost of living increases, return policies, housing and child education support...just moving you and your stuff like a pawn on a chessboard. Great, talented staffers are at times refusing to move for the company these days given the constant (and I mean at least over the last two years and continuing) turmoil and bad company financial results. Morale low too. Think twice about joining, and if there, refurbish your LinkedIn and CV materials and start networking broadly outside.

Pros

Decent starting salary, good benefits, generous PTO

Cons

1% raises forever. Last promotion I got to Principal had no raise but a bump in bonus percentage. Now they are giving kids 8-12% raises and they have less than 5 yrs. Once you hit about 5 yrs you will get the 1% a yr and be pigeon holed into a specific job. Then good luck trying to change.
