Pros
This was by far the most harrowing role of my career. The culture is toxic, leadership is petty and directionless. The company operates like a closed circle of loyalists who spend more time scratching each other’s backs than actually building a product. People are dishonest and blatantly appropriate work- my contributions were frequently taken without credit. The level of disrespect was astonishing!
Leadership hires have been equally disappointing especially within poroduct marketing when - strategy and messaging was copied from competitors, with little original thinking or genuine collaboration. Feedback was vague and unhelpful, 1:1s were often cancelled, there was no real coaching, structure, or support—only undermining.
The product itself is weak, poorly differentiated, and lacks innovation. Direction changes constantly, but never with clarity. “Hire and fire” is the norm here- good people don’t last, while toxic ones get rewarded. It was clear to me that things were on a downward slope, so when the layoff hit, I wasn’t surprised.
Cons
Honestly, none worth noting except for a few genuinely supportive managers, who unfortunately didn’t last long either which says a lot about the culture here.
