Pros
I worked for NexGen for 4 months and a few more months beforehand with a similar company also with Directv. The manager is good and honest. I liked the work itself. I enjoyed helping people gain a better tv service and to save money on their cable bill. Most interactions were friendly. If you enjoy closing deals and trying new tactics, then this is a good job for you. I constantly looked for new ways to improve because having people sign-up on the same day they come to talk is crucial.
Cons
There is a high turnover. Why? One reason is it hard to immediately convince someone in 15 minutes to sign a 2 year contract for satellite tv. If you can make lots of these deals each week, then you earn good money. However, most employees can't do it. If you cannot persuade people to sign-up, then you do not make much money.
