Pros

Great place for someone who is starting out their careers. The benefits are hard to beat.

Cons

When I returned from maternity leave, I was not provided a safe space to express my breast milk. I requested for a lock to be installed on my door to ensure that I will not have any intruders. That was quickly declined, and the response I got was because of budgeting reasons. I was made to feel discouraged like this is the way things are. I was told others before me have tried going to HR, but that did not help them. I knew what my rights were as a working mother, but I decided to just leave the company instead of fighting with people I will have to work with on a daily basis. Even if I won the battle of getting a secure place to pump, I would be in a losing position as I'm surrounded by people who have shown that they do not respect mine and my child's needs. Management style is more on the micromanaging side. Managers cared most about making themselves look good in front of their leaders, and not so much about the mental and physical wellbeing of their team members. At least, this is the case in the area I worked in.

Pros

Right out of college, I had an opportunity with the New York Life. Being young I felt that I was at a disadvantage but I worked hard, I was relentless, and ambitious. My first full year, I was able to make a six-figure income. It wasn't easy but is medical school easy? Is law school easy? The training and development at New York Life was unmatched. I knew nothing about the Insurance and Financial Services industry until I was given an opportunity at New York Life and the training was exceptional and has led me to the success I have today.

Cons

You have to work hard, be relentless, entrepreneurial, invest a lot of time and effort into the business and above all, expect a higher standard of living and strive towards that goal every single day.
