Many strategic decisions are made with poor buy-in from the Business, usually for a short term solution at the expense of the long term success. This 'get this done now, worry about the rest later' seems to infiltrate every function in the business I came across. A lot of people more than happy to ride out the years for their pension, not really adding anything.
