Pros

There once was some descent management but the owner ran them off as he felt that he could do a better job himself...

Cons

Way too many to list but the central point is the CEO's lack of integrity, honesty, and reality. He wants to sick back, live a lavish lifestyle and be paid top dollar to do it all while traveling the world claiming to be working and complaining of his hectic travel schedule yet the only thing that he is doing on these trips is of personal gain. Don't be fooled by his initial candor and demeanor, he has a very good ability at winning you over but within the first six months you will realize the true colors. Vindictive, condescending and mentally unstable.

Clarification and this reiterates my frustration with anonymous positing's. I have owned this business 13 years and continue to be a reference for anyone who leaves my company that is eligible for re-hire which has been about 80% of 32 employees over the years. Lack of integrity, honesty and reality. Lack of integrity is hiding behind anonymous positing's and attacking someone as "mentally unstable". Travel. I do travel a lot, and never once complain about it. I am a member of two peer groups, Entrepreneurs' organization Charlotte and HTG Peer groups. I am on the board of directors for EO Charlotte and travel once a year to meet with all the EO Board members from around the world to an event called GLC to learn how to do my job better. This board seat is a volunteer position and a majority of travel expense is handled personally. HTG peer groups we are required to travel for one week once a quarter to review our financials, business processes and again learn how to be become a better business owner. I am also involved with a local 501c3 charity organization that has given me the opportunity to serve impoverished children and also the ability to travel and see another culture. This was all expenses that I personally handled along with the financial donations and time commitments I made. In addition I am involved in other local charitable organizations such as Rotary, Junior Achievement etc. Personal gain. I have worked very hard in my life and I do have the fortune to gain from my experiences. I would argue that a majority of my time is spent learning how to run a business, to provide opportunity, create jobs and to serve our clients better. Lavish lifestyle. I work very hard and am far from living a lavish life style. I started this business to provide a great service, create employment opportunity in my community and give myself the ability make more money than I would working for someone else. As a business owner I have more responsibilities than most people care to have. I make mistakes, but am rewarded and punished by my decisions and get energy out of what I do. Additionally, read 52 books last year, studied and became a CISSP, started another business and still spend abundant time with my wife and 2 young kids. Network Essentials benchmarks our financials vs. 3500+ other IT companies on a quarterly basis using Service-Leadership. According to those metrics I do not pay myself near where other companies of similar size are paying owners. People who I want to know will make up their own mind about my integrity, honesty and reality by meeting me. (LinkedIn for coffee), instead of reading the rant of a malcontent.

Pros

I have really enjoyed working for Network Essentials. They gave me a competitive salary, great benefits package, and my own office that has plenty of sunlight. They provide a good work/life balance, where if you are not working or on call, you are not expected to answer emails or phone calls during your personal time. All of my co-workers are very friendly, and management has been great. I've really enjoyed getting to know everyone here and working with the clients to assist them with their IT needs. It is very fulfilling work knowing you can advise people with their technological needs and help clients grow and develop their own businesses.

Cons

None that I can think of that are directly attributable to them. The IT business can be unpredictable and stressful at times, but that's the industry in general.

Pros

After being employed at The Network Essentials for 5+ years, I can only state positive things about the company. I was taken in as a level one help desk technician (straight from college) and trained by some excellent folks--seven years later I can only say the working environment provided a wealthy smorgasbord of experience which, to this day, assists me along my career path.

Cons

There aren't many cons that come to mind, other than the fact that working with (any) MSP you will be quite exerted by the end of the week! Supporting a large array of clients 24/7 is not easy work, though when you're surrounded by excellent coworkers and assisting genuine clients it's all worthwhile.
