Pros
Subsidised canteen with a TV and outside seating. Free, decent-sized car park and a supermarket nearby. So, the pros only relate to the facilities.
Cons
Perm staff treated temps as if they were inferior despite being in the same roles, low pay rates, no staff discounts on the products we were selling, bullying (through either exclusion from cliques or passive aggressive behaviour) is common and in the case of the SEO Manager back then, completely overlooked. Some of the 'lads' in this firm need to rethink their behaviour and act like professionals and gentlemen. Scapegoating was also in evidence. I once pointed out a ridiculous error of judgement someone had made with site content and was asked if I was the guilty party! Easier to blame a temp exec than the actual manager or manager's friend who had screwed up. No training given, so little career development, top heavy in the lower and middle management with 3 managers in a team of 10, with the team leader being happiest to manage from a distance in the local coffee shop! Hardly inspiring. Department leader was ensconced in his private office and rarely even spoke to the whole department. I couldn't tell you a thing about his personality, nor who senior management were. Too many senior managers in their ivory tower offices when they needed to be more interactive. The overall feeling was of being a chicken in a battery environment. Get your experience and then get out to somewhere that will make you feel appreciated.
