Pros
Excellent Leaders, friendly co-workers, many experienced long-time associates. Managers were supportive, helped with career advancement, allowed flexibility for family and appointments. Commercial Agribusiness was independent from the rest of Nationwide for a long time from when they were known as Farmland Mutual Insurance Company until they joined with Allied to become Nationwide Insurance in the 2000's.
Cons
Company has changed over the past few years, Leaders are more interested in profits than people, combining departments, eliminating people, making bad decisions on technology that doesn't work with larger accounts, hiring more managers and directors than associates. Common to have managers over 1 or 2 associates. Added a program called LEAN that is a waste of time where teams discuss what they are working on in daily or almost daily huddles. Managers have become micro managers with strict policies in place causing people to leave or retire from the company. Salary increases are minimal, advancement is limited, and the workload is unrealistic for the number of associates hired.
