Our team members are our most important asset, however, we stand above our competition due to our high standards for quality work, which comes with high expectations of our team members. We love it when new hires come to us with previous experience in our field, but we also expect our techs to learn to do our work our way to meet the standards our customers deserve. Fires are created when work is not performed to the National Solar level of quality; and when partnered with a lack of accountability, it makes for an unhappy and non-productive work environment. The ability to step back from what you know and do a familiar task in a new way, the humility to recognize that there are different and possibly better ways to complete work than what was learned in the past, and the willingness to be in a collaborative team environment that benefits the customer and the company equally is what we look for in our staff. Not everyone is a good fit, and most often it shows when skills have been overstated or there is an unwillingness to take direction. As a rule, we do not lower our quality standards to accommodate the wrong people. Our techs work in a team environment and collaborate with the support system when they encounter problems but do the work to resolve their own errors, so if this employee felt like a firefighter, it shows a larger performance issue.
