Competitive compensation, behind the times everywhere else - Financial Advisor Associate National Life Group Employee Review

Pros

Very competitive 1st year commission compensation. The Term Life product has a lot of built-in features that are not typical of the industry. IUL is a high participatory cap rate and competes with Securian, Allianz, and others very well.

Cons

Underwriting is glacially slow. Anyone you speak to that is a non-producer has the sense of urgency of a Government employee. The company is older than MassMutual and many other Life Insurance carriers, but is still virtually unknown. Practices feel ancient.

Pros

Good pay, nice people to work with but as a consultant I feel a bit on the "outside".

Cons

Every single person that is an Executive Vice President is a man with the only woman being the CEO's Executive Assistant. Clearly you can see there is a distinct "known" here at this company.

We recognize that diversity has historically been an issue in our industry. However, if you look at our corporate board, we're actively working to diversify and will continue to make sure we consider all aspects. We will always focus on adding the most qualified talent to all of our roles across the entire organization. If you would like to connect further regarding this, I would welcome the opportunity to talk. - Michael Veilleux, Chief People Officer
