Pros
They allow you to work independently, are somewhat flexible in the decisions they make to grow business, established relationships with the top tier agencies throughout the West Coast, strong and well-known brand with the agencies and clients they serve, and they have a great product with great rates throughout the West Coast. Senior leadership has a great vision for the organization and they are positioned well to grow and sustain growth for years to come.
Cons
I’m sure this isn’t the case from every region and every middle manager, however I experienced a very cynical, look out for yourself and take anyone down you need to in order to make a name for yourself environment and working conditions. This along with a large amount of false promises and false statements made to temporarily appease me and try and persuade me to stop asking questions or avoid further investigating a concern or challenge. I strongly believe there was a lack of communication of the companies and senior leaderships vision and direction down to our levels and I believe not only was this communication stalled or stopped altogether but any information, needs, and communication that could have helped the organization and the clients was often dismissed before it could get to senior leadership and in many cases the middle management would take over this information and results and make it their own when communicating to senior leadership thus taking the credit. Very negative working environment where everyone was pinned against each other and made to feel that you should keep your head down, do the minimum, and not present new ideas or suggestions that could benefit the organization.
