Pros

Support - The whole Helpline are supportive towards each other, no matter what the job role. Opportunity - The Helpline provides opportunity to develop your career, regardless of where you are within your career. This can be within the job role or to progress. Hard work is recognised and valued. Team Spirit - Working as a team is encouraged and positive relationships are formed throughout the helpline, across the three bases. The opportunity to make a difference - A varied job, with no two days the same. The ability to help and support many children and families. Fast paced environment - The volume of the work ensures a need to be able to thrive in a busy environment. This ensures that days go quickly, but work stays at work. Generous annual leave, salary and your lunch hour, is YOUR lunch hour! Supportive management- The senior management team are supportive, approachable and willing to listen and learn.

Cons

Shift work/ one in three weekends(for full time staff) - Not everybody’s cup of tea. Lack of flexibility for hours worked -Mainly 35 hour or 17 and a half hour shift patterns. Lack of autonomy in the working day- Due to the nature of the work, a level of organisation and structure is required, which is unavoidable in impacting on autonomy.
