Pros

Great insurance and hybrid schedule

Cons

I joined NCB with the hope of building a stable career. Instead, I entered an environment lacking basic structure, communication, and professionalism. There was no onboarding or training. HR didn’t acknowledge my hire on the internal website, and I never received contact details for coworkers, including phone numbers. No evaluations were provided at 30 or 60 days. At 45 days, I was placed on an action plan and told I had “three strikes.” Those strikes? A typo, one missed invoice, and a single miscalculation—errors that are typical in any job, especially without guidance or support. My direct manager was unpredictable and unwilling to communicate. Questions went unanswered, both in person and online, and I was routinely told to “read the documents.” Even when mistakes occurred, no explanations or corrections were offered—just judgment. Early on, I discovered a fraudulent charge that had been overlooked—one that could have cost the company over $1 million. Instead of appreciation, my manager took offense that I found it, and her treatment toward me became noticeably hostile from that point forward. It felt personal, and professionalism went out the window. To make matters worse, the office culture was dominated by cliques. Inclusion felt conditional, and certain groups operated with favoritism and exclusivity. Genuine collaboration was stifled by selective communication, leaving employees like myself isolated regardless of work ethic. I was even labeled “antisocial” for choosing not to attend birthday celebrations or social events, despite showing up for my job every day and working diligently. Real connection isn’t forced—it’s built on mutual respect, which was consistently lacking. I left not because I wasn’t qualified, but because the workplace made success unsustainable. I do not recommend this company to anyone seeking leadership, equity, or emotional safety.
