Pros
There are a lot of nice people who work at the NBOME. The benefits are decent - medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, retirement plan, vacation and sick time. The Chicago location is very close to the blue line train and the building has a free parking ramp.
Cons
Management generally shows little concern for whether employees feel satisfied with their work, and show little true care for employee well being. Employee suggestions receive no action from management. Employee turnover is very high. The salaries are quite low compared to other companies for similar work. The president is old-fashioned and doesn't allow things like casual Fridays (or casual day almost ever), no work from home or remote work is allowed. Rigid rules in general. In the Chicago location, there is a gym in the building but they are too cheap to pay for employees to have access. Very hard to advance in the company. I would not recommend working here except as a first-time job to use as a stepping stone to something better.
