Pros

If you enjoy sleeping with other peoples husbands, pastors, watching managers cheat on their wives at the national managers meeting; then this is the perfect place to be!! I've been an employee at murphy for more than 7 years and I've seen it all.

Cons

Adults dress like children. So called Christians go out and party, drink; just disgusting. Upper management have no clue what they're doing. Each department complete what they want to. I'm paid well, but there are others that do what I do that make way, way less than me. I feel sorry for the black people at the company because there is NO respect for them at all.

Pros

Fun coworkers, great customers. Regular customers who appreciate you and know it’s your job to ask for ID/upsell items. At my store, the manager will work around any day you need off so that is a big plus!

Cons

Some customers can be real PITAs and all around jerks. Sometimes it feels like we don’t get paid enough for what we do.

Pros

Good benefits. Fridays are half-days.

Cons

Terrible work culture straight out of the 90s that has never evolved. Low pay unless you're at the top. Sexism, various -phobias, pay discrimination, 'pizza days', the works. Lack of overtime is grounds for firing. Recently laid off 100 HO employees after acquiring a failing convenience store chain a dozen states away that ended up wasting a ton of money. Management that throws you under the bus. If you work really hard, you might get promoted after several years at your current level. Or you might not. Leaning hard into AI recently, which might not be a con for you, but is for everyone at MUSA currently using it.
