Pros

*Please note that I left this company on my own volition and was not terminated* I write this to inform others of the issues related to this company, not out of anger towards the company, but concern for those who work there now and who will work there in the future. If you intend on working here, beware that you will NEVER receive a raise. You will receive likely the bare minimum amount of hours at all times, your need for hours, or time off is treated with disregard and annoyance. I understand that some of you need employment regardless of the company or conditions, but you should take note of the following. There are very few to 0 perks to this job outside of 50% off of food during working hours. There are no other benefits that are meaningfully provided, only offered during the interview process.

Cons

-The majority of if not every single employee (from all departments within the hotel) has not received a raise in years. If they do provide a raise after a few years, it will be for less than a dollar. -The management is untrained and unprofessional, and passive aggressive. -The training is incredibly poor and will not prepare you for your work in a meaningful capacity. There is also no sexual harassment or bullying training (or employer retaliation training which they severely need) -The ownership is highly disinterested in the longevity of the company and lives across the country, which has resulted in an administration focused on cutting costs at any expense. -They change payroll systems yearly in order to delay payments to their employees. -They claim to have unlimited PTO but you will have a hard time calling off for any reason whatsoever. -They currently consider 32hours as “full time” hours, and 16 hours part time, and you will not receive overtime pay unless you work 9 hours overtime in a week. Do not think that you will be able to use this company as a reference. Luckily, I was not in a situation where I needed this experience on my Resumé.

Pros

As an employee it is great to know that any idea brought to management's attention will be considered. This is a new place and they are open enough to want other thoughts and ideas to make the place more guest friendly. Everything is from scratch, we are making the rules as we grow- great stuff

Cons

Really is no downside except the distance and that isn't really a problem. It was a lot closer than I thought.

Pros

The people are fun to work with. Generally people are in good spirits, and you develop a family-oriented working relationship with them. The local customers are nice for the most part. The regulars who you'll get to know by name are generally nice and fun to serve.

Cons

Being that it's a relatively new hotel, there are growing pains associated with it. Management isn't always congruent (one supervisor will say one thing, and another one will say something else).
