Glorified cold calling job, low pay, unstimulating work

Thank you for taking the time to leave a brief review. It seems there was not a personal fit between you and the investor analyst role. Throughout the recruitment process, we are clear and transparent around the fact the role involves cold-calling investors. If you do not have an active interest in the asset management industry, and do not find speaking with high level institutional investors to discuss their investment mandates stimulating, this would not be the right role for you. We are appreciative of your positive comment with respect to our in-house asset class training program, thank you.
You get lots of exposure to top fund managers and institutional investors from day one - stuff you wouldn't normally get until years later in your career. The CEO and leadership team were supportive and available when you need help. Your communication skills and market knowledge develop super quickly, and the analyst team has a really good culture - made some great friends there. Good place if you want to break into asset management and don't mind grinding it out for solid exit opportunities.
Cons
Hours are long and the pace is intense, especially during training. Starting salary isn't amazing but you have to think of it as paying for the experience and connections you get.
