Wow where to start:
If you have a bad manager, you will have the worst time of your life. There is so much oversight on the manager/district manager area. Some district managers let their managers get away with abusing their employees. Some stores are insanely strict about literally everything from how you greet people to what kind of voice you say things in. Managers that are awful always hire awful people so the level of incompetence is always there. Mud Bay is just a corporation pretending to be a “small business.” They act like they value their employees but definitely do not. They advocate for promoting within, but managers are most always outside hires and make it difficult to move up in the company. Mud Bay does this strange thing called a development plan, which means if they don’t want to promote you, they will lie to you and put you on a development plan for 2 years with no intention of ever promoting you. There is ridiculous scheduling oversight on the district manager’s part because a manager should not be able to schedule someone close/open shifts once a week! Mud bay is growing way too fast and has lost their focus on small business with great quality. There is literally 0 chance of you having a life outside of work because the scheduling is always ridiculous.
