Pros
- Great co-workers - You learn a lot and are given responsibilities
Cons
- Company values: none. The only values you’ll find in the company will come from your co-workers, it does not include the direction, which you will barely see. It is a “big family” without mom or dad to count in…only brothers and sisters. - They have poor consideration for their employees. They won't hesitated to sack people without any notice or valid explanation. But they ask you to give one month notice when you want to resign. - Giving good results is not enough, they will always ask you for more. They like to ask for ridiculous goals… - When questioned about the way they treat their employees, they argue that throwing a birthday party every month and dinner from time to time is their way of showing how thankful they are and keep the spirit high. Cheap Chinese food and cold pizzas are not going to make it for all the bad things happening in there… - The company lack of honesty for their customers. There is no transparency about where the company is. Most of the time you have to hide that you are in China, and the company optometrist is in Hong Kong. - The salary is very very low when you start (and for 6 months at least) so unless you have some savings or your parent can support you, living in Shanghai will be very hard. The direction will tell you it’s enough, but they don’t realize how hard it is to make ends meet with only 4000rmb a month. We are in China yes, but living in Shanghai is way more expensive than living in the country side. - Working hours are not flexible. When you arrive late even for 10min, they will deduce money from your salry, but if you stay late, don't expect anything from them...
