Pros
You learn a lot and develop a pretty thick skin
Cons
I worked at Moss Properties and it was certainly an eye opener. The staff turnover is absolutely ridiculous as it is near enough slave labour. People were fired on the spot then an email would go around saying "X person is no longer in our employ" They would constantly be hiring and interviewing as it was a constant revolving door.
You were paid a pittance and expected to essentially work a day for free as you would work every other saturday without a day off during the week. Not only that but you were only paid 100 pounds a month fuel allowance that was included in your salary ! so even if you were doing viewings up in york, wakefield and sheffield which racked up SERIOUS miles, you were doing so out of your own pocket.
I was sent to do viewings at properties with sitting tenants that were known drug addicts, by myself in the dark to try and get them re-let to line the owners pocket, they didn't care about my safety.
They would frequently book viewings in for me outside of my working hours, so i would be working for 10-12 hours some days (no lunch break, everyone eats at their desks). then once you get home you are expected to type an email out to the whole company telling them what you did that day (in great detail)
you are given a phone and laptop but that is just so they can make you work near enough 24 hours a day.
Fear factor management style, you would be fired for ANYTHING.
They rip off their tenants, landlords and vendors.
the management are absolute bullies.
