Pros
The patients are usually a joy to work with, and the work is mentally very rewarding. It feels great to help people when they need it most.
Cons
There is a big disconnect between upper management and the rest of the company. Concerns are frequently dismissed and it is difficult to get support. There is a lot of subtle politicking and nepotism running through its structure. There is a high turnover, and hiring is sometimes done in a hurry. The result is a blend of very professional people with great work ethic and warm hearts, but also people who do not want to work, gossip, are cruel, don't follow rules, bully, and manipulate, and are allowed to continue this so long as it isn't causing immediate serious harm to the company or upper management.
