9yThanks for your encouraging words and your five star review. I completely agree that our culture and our people contribute to a work environment that is supportive, values-based, hard-working, and generally "awesome." But the words you included in your headline, "... one of the best I’ve experienced," reminds me that if one hasn’t experienced other workplaces and workplace cultures it can be hard to know just how good we’ve got it at Morningstar.
As you’ve noted, we do expect a lot from our people but we want our team members to feel fairly compensated for those high expectations. Rewards can come in many form-- tangible and intangible-- and the aspects of our culture that you call out, including flexibility, trust, and mission are a big part of the total value proposition we offer our employees. That said, we continue to evaluate our tangible rewards (compensation and benefits, mainly) to ensure we’re offering a fair compensation for the intensity and commitment we expect from everyone on the team. We’ll improve anything we need to in this regard, but we’ll maintain a similar focus on culture as, to your point, that’s truly what sets us apart from most other companies.
